FAQ

can you be reached by phone?

No, instead use info@illwillbrewing.com or TEXT: 330-831-2345. Calls and VMs will go unheard. TEXT for information.

are dogs welcome?
Yes, but expect Vanessa to kiss them on their lips.  (cats are welcome too)

are kids welcome?
Yes, however after 8pm the music and environment is uncensored. At that time we consider the premises to be kid-tolerant vs kid-friendly.  Please be mindful of our other guests and for their own safety, do not leave your children unattended.

do you have tvs?
The big game will not be on, if that's why you ask. We encourage you talk to each other.

Are your beers available to-go?
Yes, we offer an ever-expanding library of 16oz cans. You can find can availability on our Taplist page (as of a certain date). If you seek a specific title and are traveling from distance,  it is best to text 330-831-2345 for real-time inventories.

My Smoothie is flat, what happened?
We packaged it that way! We believe that CO2 degrades the experience interfering with texture and flavor. Early on, we decided they taste better uncarbonated, and continue that practice today. Your can will have give to the walls - a squish. Typically, it is CO2 that holds the can walls taut. Cans hold 16.7 ounces filled to the lid. Traditional beers are filled to 16oz (where your can crests and the top and begins to slope towards the lid) and CO2 occupies the remaining .7oz of volume space. With smoothies, we fill your can to 16.7 ounces, but because of the lack of carbonation, the can still has some give.  You have not been shorted, or in possession of an underfill, in reality, you have .7 more ounces than usual.

What is the shelf-life of a Smoothie?
Many of our most popular titles contain true dairy - milk. Because it was canned, does not alter the behavior or characteristics of milk. If allowed to warm, it will spoil in a couple hours. Even consider your care ride home as a ticking clock if unchilled. Consider bringing a cooler if you intend on leaving with take-out. We suggest a drink-by date of six weeks from production - which will be labeled on your can.

Fruited-only titles have a longer shelf-life, but refrigeration should remain a priority.

A tell-tale sign of spoilage is apparent CO2 in the can. If the can is hard (like a typical beer), this is a bad sign. Open over a sink or not at all! CO2 implies fermentation, which does not necessarily mean the beer is bad. All beers undergo fermentation, but it will not be we intended. The ABV will be higher, the flavor altered, or indeed spoiled.  Your nose is an excellent judge.
Refrigerated temperatures and consuming fresh are your best safeguards against spoilage.

Can you ship me beer?
We offer direct-to-consumer shipping for Ohio and Pennsylvania residents, weather dependent, in boxes of 12. Smoothies require sub-40 degree weather for two consecutive days to ship. Boxes filled entirely with IPA can ship year-round.

We strongly discourage shipping our beer on your own (aside from pure legality). Many of our titles contain true dairy. Because it was canned, does not change that it is milk. It will spoil within hours if it is unrefrigerated. We only ship smoothies in January and February which still carries risk.

is food available?
Yes, Smoke Worx is our neighbor and open during all of our hours of operation.

is anything gluten-free?
Yes, you will always find at least one GF title on-tap or in the fridge, and often up to six.

is there anything other than beer?
Our permit (A-1C), allows for the sale of beer and seltzer that we produce. You will always find at least one Hard Seltzer/Tea/Rootbeer/Lemonade on-tap (plus our smoothie menu). We also carry Kast Iron root beer.

why don't you distribute?
We prefer to have grain-to-glass control over quality to deliver you the best and freshest experience possible. Plus, the economics of distribution - we find miserable.

Do you really consider your smoothies to be beer?
The federal agency responsible for our oversight reviews our recipes and considers them beer. We call them smoothies, and are genuinely unconcerned how you categorize them.

do you host live music?
No.

will you host my event?
We have repurposed our private room for a different use within the brewery and it is no longer available for reservation.  Birthday gatherings and the like are welcome to rearrange our furniture to serve your needs. Our patio is 28,000 square feet and there is ample space to segregate parties.

While we are otherwise closed on Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays, we make our space available for fundraising. See below:

will you Give to my organization?
We offer two avenues for charitable fundraising. You may reserve a non-Saturday on our calendar for your fundraising event - where you are free to use our space, without charge. You may decorate and market your event, and Ill Will Brewing will donate $1 from every 12oz pour and .50c from every 6oz pour that evening.

The second, during the summer, nearby Town Center presents an outdoor concert series. If you represent a non-profit or charitable organization, and are willing to provide two people for about three hours on a Saturday evening, we can provide you with an exceptional return on your time serving as guest bartenders.  It is beer only, and no experience is required. Email info@illwillbrewing.com to find out how it works.

In addition to these avenues, our charitable giving is facilitated through the non-profit Ill Will is for the Children.
